We added a light wave solver to the electrostatic physics in VlaPy (thanks to Prof. Alec Thomas). We use the vector potential formulation as that enables us to only track a single quantity rather than four i.

We wrote a 1D-1V Pythonic Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck solver last year and published it in JOSS. This used NumPy and was tested against well-established plasma physics calculations. There were a couple of principle design choices that were made.
